Have a very blessed Christmas,

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Do you want to learn how to sew or use what you already know and meet new friends at the same time? Hearty Spools may just be the place for you!
I have always loved sewing! It gives me a great sense of accomplishment when I've completed a project and think about all the ways that it will be used. The projects that are selected are always thought out very carefully, and the end goal is explained. How will it be used to change lives and
impact people for God?
Three of the projects that I have helped with were the pillowcases, curtains, and pajamas. It was amazing to see women coming together and working alongside each other to accomplish our goals........of getting these items to the border community of Progreso. Families were impacted in many ways with such a simple act of kindness..........using our talents.
If you've never sewn before, don't feel intimidated. Hearty Spools is a very safe, relaxing environment to not only learn new skills but to have new friends come along side of you, no matter what season of life you are in. You can even bring a friend or two with you.
Come and experience Hearty Spools and connect with others with a similar interest in sewing and impacting lives! You'll be glad you did!

I was first introduced to IF:Equip by Pat Schaerdel when she shared an upcoming study on Facebook. It was during a time when I needed some encouragement and challenge and it really spoke to me. That’s when I really started to explore the website and learned about IF:Gathering.

As the registration date approached, I began to get more and more excited about the possibility of attending. I sat down at my laptop minutes before registration began. I did not know anyone planning on attending and I am definitely someone who likes to have a familiar face next to me when I embark on something new, but I felt like God was calling me to give it a shot. Then.. the website crashed. So fast forward a couple hours later and I gave myself the same pep talk and tried again. I attempted to register multiple times without any confirmation. I was waiting on pins and needles.. I later received a call and found out I got in!!!! I also found out that I had registered a total of 3 times which allowed me to give 2 spots away. So not only did I get into this awesome event but I was able to bring along a couple of my closest friends. I definitely felt God’s extravagance in this!!! To be honest, I think I needed to retell this story today. It is such a great picture of not just God’s provision but his extravagant provision and I needed to remember that today!

I have been wanting to attend an IF gathering since I heard about it last year or so. The spots fill up quickly and I am busy so it just never seemed to happen for me. When my friend Chris invited me to IF:pray, I honestly had mixed emotions because prayer is not my strongest discipline and I don’t get super excited about prayer events. ( kind of like not liking to work out the muscles you probably know you need to work the most!) so I went to be social and feel involved.
I was more than pleasantly surprised however. A diverse group of women gathered in a warehouse in downtown Austin ( with twinkly lights and a cool food truck!) to simply call upon the Lord. We prayed for each other, for our city, for our nation, for the hurting world. What IF…. we called on the name of the Lord? What IF… He showed up and answered us and moved on our behalf? What then? It was a powerfully anointed time to bring our needs before the Lord. I have never seen such humility and dedication and purpose all in one place. Many times we say “ Well, all we can do is pray.” but there is power in praying together. Where two or more are gathered… There He is in their midst. Seeking God should be the first thing we do. IF He is real, then we should seek Him and find Him and see what He has to say about who we are and why we are here. I could feel His presence as we prayed and sought His face. I left feeling filled and empowered and encouraged that we serve a mighty and powerful God who will draw near to us when we draw near to Him. Clear your schedule, invite a friend, come just to “be social and included”. The IF gathering will change your life.

I happened to stumble upon IF: Austin last year on the day that it was taking place and they were streaming it live for free. When I say stumbled upon, I really mean God knew that I would be blessed by watching it, so He lead me to it. He will always give us just what we need, just when we need it, if only we let Him. I started watching the first video not knowing anything about IF. It focused on encouraging every woman to "run your race", to find comfort and joy in the calling God has given you and to celebrate that God made you special. He gave you specific gifts to use to glorify Him! The videos continued and I sat for hours intently watching and absorbing the little bits of truth shared. I laughed, I cried and I ended feeling inspired, refreshed and thankful for the way God spoke to me through the videos. I can't wait to see what God has in store for the next IF: Austin!
